LIVE ON MISSION
In Matthew 28, Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, he gave his disciples and followers a final command, in verses 19-20, to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

The call to missions is both local and global.
In Acts 1:8, Jesus sends out his followers with the message, “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We are called to be witnesses for Christ in our communities, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and to our families. We are also called to step outside of our limited worldview, and share the gospel to other nations and people outside of our context. The efficacy of the gospel is far more powerful than barriers posed by nations, language, culture, and distance.

The call to missions is both general and personal.
As the “big C” Church, we are collectively called to advance the kingdom of heaven here on earth, but we also recognize that every believer has a personal responsibility to obey Jesus’ command. When you make the decision to surrender your life to Christ and follow him, you’re also taking up the call to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15). And just as the command of the great commission applies to all believers, so does the promise, “behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.”

The call to missions is about both the message and the work of Jesus.
We can’t just “walk the walk” or just “talk the talk” when it comes to missional living. As followers of Jesus, we are being formed more into the image of Christ over the course of our lives – that means that our character and priorities should shift to align with the character and priorities of Christ. Living on mission looks like caring for the people of God while sharing and standing on the truth of God.
