Weekly Digest - May 14th

Welcome to the Weekly Digest!

Reading

Read Ephesians 6:10-20 in preparation for next week's teaching.

Journal Prompts

* A quick note on journaling: the most important step to forming this discipline in your life is to write anything and write often. Journaling is an incredible way to slow down, digest the content of a text, let your brain internalize thoughts that may come up, and keep a record for future reflection on what God was speaking to you during your reading. Journaling can take many forms such as written prayers, bullet points, stream of consciousness, or even poetry. Try some different methods and find the one that works best for you.

Journal Prompts / Discussion Questions from Today's Teaching

Ephesians 5:26-33

How does knowing that marriage is a marathon and not a sprint change dynamic in your relationship?

What does it mean to have the cross as a pattern for your relationships? How does that change the way you respond to conflict?

What is God’s goal for marriage and how is that goal realized?

What does it look like to carry a cross in your current relationship?

Meditate and journal on the 3 rules we discussed on Sunday during the teaching.

Rule#1 – Be angry and sin not.

Rule#2 – Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
