Weekly Digest - June 11th

Welcome to the Weekly Digest!

Reading

Next week we will take a short break from Jonah for Father's Day.

Journal Prompts

* A quick note on journaling: the most important step to forming this discipline in your life is to write anything and write often. Journaling is an incredible way to slow down, digest the content of a text, let your brain internalize thoughts that may come up, and keep a record for future reflection on what God was speaking to you during your reading. Journaling can take many forms such as written prayers, bullet points, stream of consciousness, or even poetry. Try some different methods and find the one that works best for you.

Journal Prompts / Discussion Questions from Today's Teaching

Jonah 1:6-14

How have you experienced the digression of sin in your life? How far did it take you?

Have you ever had the thought that your sin only affected you? How has the Book of Jonah opened your eyes to the truth?

What is the result of unrepentant sin in our lives? How does God address those sins?

What does God send storms into our lives and how do they work? What does a storm reveal?

How does God feel about a divided devotion spiritually in our lives?

Take a few minutes to read 1 Corinthians 11:28-32 and examine yourself in the area of obedience to the Lord. Honestly record what you find.
