The Harbor

The Harbor is a student ministry for teens in grades 6-12. Much like an actual harbor, we aim to be a place where all are welcomed to rest, refresh, and head out into the world equipped to love and exemplify Christ's character. We are all vessels and as 1 Timothy 4:12 states: we are not to hinder the youth...

The Harbor meets on Sunday afternoons from 3-6 pm.

Questions or concerns, please email us at students@hopeinanderson.com.

The Harbor: Current Series

Everyone loves a superhero. Superman. Wonder Woman. Iron man. They swoop in and fight the bad guys, save the day, and somehow make their spandex suit look cool all at the same time. But chances are, if we ran into one of them on street, we wouldn’t recognize them. Because almost all superheroes have another side—their mild, unassuming, simply-not-as-awesome alter ego. Their real, every-day life identity is rarely as impressive. In that way, we all have something in common with superheroes. There’s a public side of us. A super-identity that most of the world gets to see. We’re funny. We have friends. We’re confident. But deep in our hearts, we know there’s an alter ego—a less than super side we’d rather hide away. As we take a closer look at three habits that often bury themselves in our alter egos, we find that God has something to say about each one that can free us from living a double-life.

Current Sermon Series

James, being a book of principles, is also one of the most practical books in the Bible. It tackles some of the most real issues and struggles that we will ever face in life: temptation, wisdom, self-control, work, anger, favoritism, and much more. James will challenge our character and call us to action that is directed by our faith. The Book of James is about taking principles and making them practical.

HopeKids: Current Series

Maybe the idea of CREATIVITY excites you. Maybe it makes you break out in a cold sweat. Or maybe it’s an idea you simply ignore, thinking you have never been creative and never will be.
The truth is we need to redefine our idea of CREATIVITY. We're not creative because of our talents. We're creative because that's how God made us. He designed each of us with a mind to think beyond ourselves and imagine possibilities.  Our creativity is a reflection of His image. He has given us the capacity to see beyond the ordinary and to understand a dimension of life that only humans can experience.
For this reason, it is important that we tap into each child's imagination and fuel his creative side. Not simply because we want to unleash a child's potential to do unique things, but because we want every child to grow up and put faith in what God can do in their personal life and believe in what He wants to do through them.
Join us this month in HopeKids as we explore our part in God’s masterpiece.
